Electricians without Borders – Act 2: After IRMA, news from Saint-Martin

Early November, we shared with you the history of Nexans' partnership with Electricians without Borders (Electriciens Sans Frontières).

Before we continue to relate the life of our partnership in an Act 3, we want to give you news of the emergency mission that is taking place in Saint-Martin.

Last week, we invited Hervé Gouyet, President of ESF, to come and talk about this mission during an informal breakfast with Nexans HQ’s collaborators at Le Vinci. He was accompanied by a volunteer of the association.

This sharing of experience raised many questions and has shown a growing interest from Nexans teams for Foundation missions.
Thanks to this exchange, we know that ESF action in Saint-Martin helped to secure electricity in 6 points of service and 20 schools. 3,000 solar kits have been distributed to the population and households waiting to be connected to the grid have been equipped with generators. Finally, a distribution of solar lamps will take place mid-December.
